Ok I asked, why no answer???

I originally asked a question about a bug in the General discussion thread General discussion thread And was swiftly fobbed off with 'ask the question in the appropriate thread' and locked the thread.
This I did, but no answer, in fact being a moderator on a public forum elsewhere, I found this bordering on being obstructive and not trying to help a member to resolve the issue they were concerned about by answering the question raised, and not try to bury the issue.
So I will ask the question in a non specific way which is suitable for this general discussion thread.
Why are there confirmed bugs from a year old to now, not only confirmed but also not forwarded?

i am sure confirmed means they were forwarded but not yet fixed because they do not feel it is priority or have no clue how to fix it just yet

I know they don't have a clue, but out of the 100+ million Euros they earn each year they could afford someone who does have a clue. It's not rocket science.

These are all that's left of 2016 bugs reports.

As you can see there sure are some left from last year but if you look a little closer how "serious" these really are, I don't see even one of them being that important that its highly necessary to fix them at any time soon. I'm not even sure if they are currently still active in the current game version.

Besides there were later added Bugs which were way more important for the game than these and so needed to be fixed first. I know not everyone agrees on all of them, but Inno decided they were and so we have to accept this since its them who are fixing them, not us. ^^

I can understand that you might not like to see such old bugs being still in the game, but for now, with none of them being really a big problem, they will definitely have low priority while other stuff comes first. That's the way it is. :)

Edit: Confirmed indeed means forwarded, which you can also see by the fact that an internal report number is added to the thread titles :)

Thats 6 of the 10 bugs still outstanding from 2016, and yes they might be of low priority but still things wrong with the game. The one that I first asked was this one as I have only just become aware of it by deleting 5 & 10 KP swap messages which I'm not interested in my new Fellowship.
This bug is driving me and others bonkers, having to keep looking at new message notifications that don't exist, and having to look in case there is a new message that does, and you can imagine how many times the damn thing goes off with swap threads.
They have plenty of time to devise new events, races etc, but non for outstanding bugs no matter how small. Inno is making commercial decisions by making events and new content, which is fair enough they are in the business to make money, and the games themselves are products, only anyone else would not let their product out if it wasn't 100%. Can't see Ford selling cars with a headlight not working, and the ashtray that wont come out etc, even if they don't effect it's performance of getting you from A to B..
And before you remind me this is Beta and thats the reason we are here to find the bugs (which will happen) in exchange for payment, these bugs are out there on live servers too.

Thank you Marindor that would be good, but I know your only the messenger, so I wont shoot you, but I wont be holding my breath waiting for it :)

Every (or nearly) company has problems that make it out the door. Inno is not alone.

Having said that, progress reports would be nice :) I hate the phantom mail as well, only answer is contact old AM and ask the thread be restarted.

Let me remind you of OS Windows which was never 100% "finished" and is still evolving over the years or any AAA games released last 10 years and i doubt you will find 1 software which has perfect AI. If it was so easy to see bugs in source code we wouldnt ever face low-quality products.

Don't know Ford's protocols, but MS and most large software companies do have Beta teams, just closed not public.

I just checked all of those threads, and I gotta say I'd be annoyed if the devs spent even 1 minute on any of them instead of other things.
Not a single 1 makes my top 20 list for things I (and pretty much everyone) would like implemented in the game.
As a small example:

Tooltips.
  • Scout times
  • Product name in workshops and goods when finished
  • Ring number
  • Culture when visiting
And that's just for tooltips, which should be pretty fast and easy to do.
I'm not saying that I 100% agree with how development time is spent, but those bugs seem very minor to me.

And just what is the point of adding new stuff not essential to the gameplay, just mere decoration, of which a percentage of it will be bugged, and a percentage of the percentage come under your 'annoyed 1 minute rule'? Therefore destined to be added to the 'not importent' category swelling the amount thats not fixed in the game.
You can forget Ford, I was speaking in the spirit of the context of what I said, not literally.

I'd say fixing those minor bugs is far less essential to gameplay, but maybe that's just me.

Quality of Life features are pretty important imo.
Being able to see what ring a province is without checking either the coin cost, or opening an encounter vs "the Shrooms AW description scrolls up instead of down."
Come on....

Communications are essential in all walks of life, let alone gameplay.
So do I endless all day along keep opening messages to find nothing there, or do I ignore it, and perhaps miss a message??
If thats not affecting my quality of life in the game then words fail me to what would be?

I didn't see that one in the list of six above. That's actually a terrible bug, and even though it's never happened to me, I'd place it ahead of my little QoL requests (and miles ahead of the other 6)

The reason you didn't see it was because there are 10 outstanding bugs from 2016, not 6 as was wrongly posted.
And the only one I originally asked about is the message notification one, asking why it was not fixed for nearly a year?
Yes I do agree that most if not all the others are no big issue, and can wait, but only to fix bugs that are a higher priority and affecting game play, which all the others don't, and when done fix these less importent ones.
But on the other hand, if they don't fix these other "less priority" bugs, and leave wallowing in the bugs vault, then even more new "less priority" bugs will be added to the list of never fixed bugs.
Take my advice and don't delete any messages as this will start this bug off if someone replies to it, having deleted just last week 2 KP swop threads is what did it for me, hence the 4-5 times an hour in a very active fellowship.

Obviously I have no idea what the division of labor is like at INNO, but I'd love to see them put more time into player concerns (both bug fixes and the more easily implemented suggestions)
I once asked if @Konniver (the elvenarchitect creator) if he could add in a supplies produced-used calculation, and he did it within hours.
I'm not asking for the same from INNO, but they do have a team that gets paid, and he has a hobby....

The devs at Inno aren't the best tbh, and the bigger companies get the more the customers just become numbers, this wouldn't have happened at the start of Inno, things would have been dealt with, tout suite! .
I once said on FoE Beta forum that in the sixties NASA put a man on the moon with the computing power of a calculator and a 12 volt system, so whats the problem with a simple task today (forget what the bug was) some bright spark replied "Yeah but they had better programmers" :p
