My wording may have been a bit strange. I meant that if you collect 5700 EC (not counting EC won back), you are expected to win enough EC back to score 260.

You're offered 23 beacon on average every 4th spin, 22 beacon every 4th spin, and 75 and 79 beacons have EV of 22 and 22.3 and you get them every spin (excluding those when you're at 18 or 19 points) Your EV is even better when you're at 18 and 19 because you are more likely to be offered 22 and 23 beacons.

It can happen that you're offered 33 58 60 when you're at 18, but it's not that common, and you can play around landing on 18. When you're at 19 you are certain to be offered 22 or 23.

The mentioned strategy basically pics 22, 23, 75 each 25% of the time, and 79 and 29 12.5% of the time. If you calculate it you see that you spend a bit below 22 EC/point on average.
