More Chapter Changes starting today. Seems pretty important, so posting here too. :)

"Chapter 6-10 Improved Progression
We are happy that our redesign of the first chapters with better quests worked out well and was able to improve the game for new players. We also know that some find our chapter progress slow and the rewards weak. This is why we are continuing the redesign of the other chapters to help players not get stuck or lost by:
  • improving the quests to guide you better in building your settlement
  • improving the quests to guide you better in building your settlement
  • adjusting the costs to make your city and economy more meaningful
  • increasing the rewards of the main quests to make them more worthwhile * we won’t change the story and we will add very few new quests
You can test all of this on Beta, from November 21 in the chapters from 6 to 10 included. The new balancing will start right after the update. The improved questline will start when you enter the next chapter after the one you are now. For example, if you are in chapter 6, you will continue the old questline until chapter 7. Then you will play the new version.
Note: your quest progress may be behind your research progress, but this doesn’t matter. As a technical side effect, you may get the first quest of a redesigned chapter again when you enter a new chapter after the update.

Also some clarification from the Community Manager:
"As a technical side effect, some of you will get the very first quest of redesigned chapters even though they have already played them when they enter a new chapter for the first time after this update; some internal details (that might be too complex to share):
  • This only happens once per affected account, not every time they enter a chapter
  • They can either complete these quests again (to receive their rewards) or cancel them (story quests of chapters you have finished can always be canceled)
  • The following will happen:
    • When your questline is currently in chapter 6 or lower, you are not affected
    • When your questline is currently in chapter 7, you will get the very first quest of chapter 7 again right before you get the first quest of chapter 8
    • When your questline is currently in chapter 8, you will get the very first quest of chapter 7 and 8 again right before you get the first quest of chapter 9
    • When your questline is currently in chapter 9, you will get the very first quest of chapter 7, 8 and 9 again right before you get the first quest of chapter 10
    • When your questline is currently in chapter 10 or higher, you will only get the very first quest of chapter 7, 8 and 9 again once you enter chapter 21 (!!)"

There is another (unintended) side effect: I am in the beginning of chapter 11 (halflings) andn today I was invited to do all the quests belonging to the Fairy chapter, even though I didn't progres to chapter 12. I can only persume this was triggered by the 'redesign of the first chapters with better quests' that was announced a while later (via trumpet). Fortunately they all were declinable, so no problems there, but I thought it was proper to let you know!

Thanks @Dorfl the Clay this has been reported as a bug, and is an unintended effect of the changes to quests. You can complete or decline any of these quests as you wish.

You can get

* up to 3 Story Quests from old chapters: the very first from chapters 7 (Fairies), 8 (Orcs), and 9 (Woodelves) - play for the rewards, or skip them as you wish
* it depends on your current chapter and differs a bit per account, but it's only 3 quests at maximum
* 7 new Fairy-chapter related quests which are new but might feel outdated for you - play or skip as you wish
* if you have placed one of the Fairy Ancient Wonders, you are also rewarded with 5 additional quests (for each of the two AW) with strong rewards; they are also optional - play or skip

In case you wonder why you have this mix of old and new quests now, and why we couldn't avoid it.
When we made the changes to the questlines of chapters 1-5 a few months ago, you remember that we had to migrate your quests several times, and this caused unfortunate side effects, which have been rightfully criticized.
We took your feedback and searched for alternative approaches in the future to avoid the same situation again.
Your quest progress has not been touched this time, and we hope you appreciate this change. These couple of quests popping up is the "trade-off" for this new approach.

Last note: the last 4 quests of the new Fairy-chapter have now alternative success conditions to make them easy (or even auto-) completable.
2 of them had a bug that they couldn't complete, which is fixed now as well.

**Some bugs have been fixed️**

* We have fixed a few issues of incorrect rounding.
* Display issues were fixed on the FA shield.
* We fixed a bug that prevented the players from seeing the correct amount of used builders.
* We fixed an issue that moved the player on the world map while keeping some of the previously explored provinces.
* An old outdated quest icon was replaced with a new one.
* Display issue was fixed on mobile, when the players opened the culture tooltip, the bar was missing.
* Display issue was fixed in Fellow's AW list when AW headline became 2 lines.
* 2 quests were fixed, the players couldn't finish the quests after fulfilling the requirements.
* The order of the buildings was fixed.

From Discord, the following bugs were fixed with today's update:

* We fixed an issue that made the game crash when the players were visiting other player's Ancient Wonders.
* We fixed an issue that prevented the players from loading the World map, tournament, and Tech tree.
* Hide building mode now works as it should.
* The display issue was fixed on the Ancient Wonders, the levels were mixed, and now they are in order.
* Magic Residence and Magic Workshop couldn't have been placed by the players and they were level 1, now they work properly.
* An issue in the trader was fixed that prevented the sorting by rating.
* We fixed an issue that allowed the players to try to recruit players that they haven't unlocked the technology for.

Wich order? In app there's still a real mess for the in city AW, NOTHING is in order and it came effective in ITA server too.
Do we have to wait Thursday for this arrangement for app, if I understand correctly what do you (inno) mean with "order"?
Anyway, I wonder who was so smart to touch something that hasn't got the need to be touched. :mad:

It was fixed too (via adding order back to building DB), but then broken (removed order for all but first levels) again in app only. I guess if they still haven't fixed it again, they want to make app sort it same way as web does it now (by the order of the first level of the AW). But app development cycle is much longer, and even if they've already fixed it in app code, it takes a lot of time for the fix to reach app stores.

Hi everyone!

We have some news for the ads​

As you may know, a test involving the option to see ads in the game has been running for some time and only some players had access to this new feature. We have collected useful data and decided to move on with a new version of the test. Tomorrow, in the late morning, the old test will end on Beta and a new one will start.
In this new test, everyone will get the option to see those ads, and there will be minor differences in how many you can see and the linked rewards. The objective is to find the right balance. Not everyone will get exactly the same experience as we are testing different options, but everyone will be part of the new test and experience the feature.

Next year, this new test will also arrive to all other live servers. Thanks a lot for the feedback you have shared so far and for your support as we keep iterating!

Is there no discussion regarding the new event? I have had a small city quit the game because of a quest that can't be completed because they haven't unlocked the cauldron and support basically told him to build battle buildings to help...I can't access discord because, when I tried to make an account it immediately banned me and discord has not responded to appeal and it's been over a month.

It's one thing for Inno to decide to shift to discord but at the very least they should ensure players have access to accurate and timely information.

Quest 40. 4x witch points or 3x province fights. I thought about quitting due to that quest.
I am also pre-cauldron and had to deploy extra military boost buildings to get past that.

You're lucky you had some and I'm glad you're still around.

Cities that build to negotiate have no need to waste resources on battle boosters and it's not like you can just go get one. You'd need multiple and that would take at least a week or two of waiting on the MA to spit one up.
I swear inno just doesn't think at all when putting quest lists together.

Hi everyone!

We have some upcoming changes for our Ancient Wonders! They will be **available on Beta from tomorrow, January 10**.

# Improvements to Ancient Wonders bonuses and costs
We want Ancient Wonders to be a fair challenge. But they use different resources and are very hard when a new chapter comes and easier later. This may stop you from placing an Ancient Wonder you want.

To fix this and make them have a steady challenge, we changed their costs. Now you will need Spell Fragments, Combining Catalysts, and Royal Restoration. This will sound familiar to Chapter 21 players as they are the same type of cost of the Ancient Wonders in that chapter, but we cut them in half (also for Chapter 21) following the feedback we got from you.

In general, we also improved their rewards. In most cases, rewards are the same type but stronger in the initial levels. At max level, there is little difference to now.

The new balance will work for the Ancient Wonders in your city, after the update you will get the new bonuses.

We know these are significant changes, and feel they are necessary to improve the game. These adjustments are essential for maintaining the relevance of Ancient Wonders. Give it a try, your feedback is invaluable to us and we greatly appreciate your dedication to improving Elvenar.
# Four exceptions (3 nerfs and 1 buff are coming)
There are few exception to the general new balancing. Two Ancient Wonders are too strong: The Sanctuary / Martial Monastery and Watchtower Ruins. They give huge culture, making this requirement almost trivial. We cut this bonus, it is still good, but not excessive. This makes culture matter more.

On the plus side, you can now level up The Sanctuary / Martial Monastery to level 35 (before 30) and the bonus on Troops Health is stronger.

The third one we nerfed is Dragon Abbey and its mana per spell bonus. This got too strong over time, as spells got more common. Also, this is very strong at first, but way less later.

We want Ancient Wonders to have stable and good effects in future chapters. With the change, this will happen. Compared to before, Dragon Abbey will be stronger in future chapters, but weaker in the current ones.

The fourth Ancient Wonder in this list is the Thrones of the High Men. It was originally depending on total Ancient Wonder levels to provide increased Culture and additional Ranking points. Now it will also take the Main Hall Ranking points into consideration, which considerably boosts the ranking points output, especially in higher chapters. This also boosts Culture to some degree, but not as strongly as the Ranking points.
