So how long till you guys figure out you can copy stuff over from FoE since its from the same company and therefor there cant be any copyright issues?

Of course not everything belongs here out of FoE. But some things would simply be great.

Take the building movement code for example, where it picks up building A when you place building B ontop of it, only to then place A somewhere else. This feature would be extremely helpful in building the city, and actually is extremely easy to copy and adept and implant, should take a few hours at most.

In fact, why is it not in this game already ? o_O

They're using a much smarter movement approach in Elvenar, which you may not have noticed, but it's very handy once you realize what's happening.

If you click on the left edge or right edge of a building, it will snap into place 1 or 2 o 3 squares toward the direction of the edge, depending on exactly where you click. This is VERY convenient when you're shifting an entire row of buildings, for example, as you'll only need a third as many clicks, and you don't have to drag things around nearly so often.

Also, most buildings can be upgraded 3 or 4 times, in place, as they only change sizes from tier to tier, so when you start moving stuff, it's likely that you're going to be upgrading an entire zone, rather than just a few isolated buildings.

Further, decorations aren't polished nor do Cultural Buildings need do be connected to roadway, so it's pretty easy to zap a couple of obsolete cultural items when you need some buffer room.

I play both FoE and Elvenar, a lot, and I'm actually very pleased with the building tools that we have in Elvenar, as compared to FoE. The swap code in FoE has it's problems and, given the actual form factors of the Elvenar buildings, a swap wouldn't be useful as often as you might suppose.

The idea of a building swap feature is proposed in this thread (click) and is already forwarded. However, you can still add your support or counterarguments in that thread. I'll close this thread as a duplicate. :)
