More expansions than space to place them?

I have used up all the available expansion space, and now after upgrading the Main Hall I have a premium expansion and nowhere to place it. When I research City Expansion 30 and 31 there will be two more needing room. I am hoping the next update will bring more available space, but I have seen nothing to suggest it will.
Are the developers or moderators, etc aware of this?

We are certainly aware, yes. So far, more space to add expansions has come simultaneously with new guest races. We cannot guarantee that this will always be the case, but we also don't have a reason to believe it won't be that way in the future.
