I agree. It doesn't feel right to me either. Some people have even quit over this issue because it is so offensive to them. And what on earth are they fighting to keep? Some bad lines of text?

The Orc narrative is, as it stands now, wide open to negative interpretation. It's too easy to Lewis Carroll the whole thing into either American or European political satire. Why keep a narrative that could easily produce bad PR?
