Technically dean is his title, he's the dean of the academy, but since it's before his name and being used as a title your point still stands. I guess they wanted it clear that dean is not the name, so it maybe should say "I am Durcu, dean of the Sorcerers Academy and president of the Elvenar Society of Sorcerers."
At the college where I work, the word Dean is always capitalized when used to name a position in the administration.. We have the Dean of Faculty, Dean of Students, etc., but the people are referred to as dean Colson, dean Johnson,etc.
