Summary
In the ingame message system, typing the first 3 letters of a name should make a tooltip appear with corresponding player names to choose from (like in FOE).

Description
Now after the FS, we are able to communicate with the whole lot with one tick to the box in the message window. But sometimes we need to pick multiple recipients but not the whole FS list. I have three mages now and we constantly communicate on FS matters. But since there is no list appearing, I have to type every name correctly in the recipient box. This is very difficult sometimes because some players have long and multiple word names.

What we need is:
  • as soon as we start typing the first letter in the recipient box, a list of name choices should appear (including the FS name)
  • the names could either be listed according to the first letter or just involving the typed letters anywhere in the name (ex. "ro...." could give the results "robert, arrow, brownie" etc
  • we should be able to click on a selected name or use the arrow keys and press enter
  • after selecting the name a comma should appear automatically for possible further recipient names
*I believe this can be applied to the FS name list at the moment, but if we ever get a discovered friends list in the future, those names could also be included in the "autocomplete" feature.

Motivation
More user friendly, enhances message system engagement.

Possible downsides
Server load due to requests for player names with each new message.

This idea has been forwarded with semra's guidelines of what such a feature could contain, and with a comment that the feature could start with only the usernames of the fellowship members. It would still be an addition to the fellowship group messages then, e.g. when you only want to contact the mages of your fellowship, as was semra's case. :)

If the feature is limited to known and relatively short lists (Fellowship, neighbors, ...) and it does not make recipients names typing too slow, why not?

Though, there is already a simple solution for constant communication with a restricted group of people: start a game mail discussion, about fellowship management, for instance, and maintain it by constantly replying...

Unfortunately this idea didn't meet it's minimum requirement of 20 voters. Therefore we will now have to archive it :)
