Things I like :- The event music. The red ribbons as they are easier to see around my city. The main prize is a very attractive building to put alongside the previous winter event buildings.
Things I don't like - The plink plink plonk of the gingerbread brick choice when using hammers. Why not just put a brick in when clicking on the hammer. .
The roulette element has been increased and there is no strategy involved at all now. I really am not impressed with this introduction of the gambling style over recent events. My grandchildren have been asking me to play cities with them but I cannot allow this now. I think the game should be labelled as over 18, which is a great shame indeed.
We used to see lots of new buildings at these events with wonderful graphics, which were exciting and they were the driving force for taking part - Which ones to choose? How to alter the look of our cities and make them fresh again? Aren't they beautiful/funny/clever/useful. Now I understand the game has evolved, everything does, but it was the wonderful imaginations of the designers that attracted me as it was a unique game, there were none like it on the internet and that made it special. I think perhaps in the, of course, understandable 'how to increase profits for our business' ethos Elvenar is at the same time losing it's one real attraction to game players, its original heart. So for me, and of course it is just one opinion, I would like to see a winter event come with a wider variety of new buildings, the return of choice and more strategy and less pot luck. We can still all be encouraged to spend our money, but I prefer to spend mine on worthwhile things and I can see none in this gambling event. The drive to further increase addiction to gambling is only ever a downward spiral and having invested thousands of hours here I would like Elvenar to be better than that.
