Dony, and how many ribbons do you get on the max? And where is the cut, I mean at what ribbon reward do we get it?

Is this really? You are just joking, aren't you? Getting ONLY ONE Book for 50 ribbons? Every day I am loosing more than 1 book because my collection bar for KP is full.

After opening 6 boxes without anything worth to be opend, I got a reshuffle and now I am to open up to 16 boxes again to get the daily. There is nearly no change to get the daily by now. So I wont buy the 7,99 € plus 1 collecting ribbons in the outskirts at live anymore.

I dont like this event. Its not an event anymore. Event is something highlighting, but this so called event is something bringing me down. For sure, at least half of my community will skip this event on live.

way too optimistic about what? that winning jackpot in casino is much higher chance then getting something usefull in this event? ;)
About people who play Elvenar turning to online casinos instead. Inno made it sure to get as many of us as possible addicted, so I don't expect that despite the righteous outrage on the forums many people will actually desert the event.

People always complained that they have to join an event due to the fear of missing out. Now the rewards are mediocre enough that you are definitely not missing anything, and still all the complaints ? For my part, I am rather happy that I can finally ignore the permanent events :)

Some people look forward to events, and have them show up and be disappointing leaves them feeling deflated. Then they have to wonder if the event will be improved because of the complaints, but by that time it might be too late for them complete it. Others are at the end (not as much this time as usually), or just stuck in a place for a week or two and have nothing particularly exciting to do while they wait for the the next stage. having an event show up which doesn't feel fulfilling leaves them in that bored state and can be very disappointing.

I opened some presents this morning and got complete rubbish like 1 purple spell, a blue flame and the reindeer looking thing. If there was any hope in my mind about the possibility that the event had been made better, this certainly removed that notion, I don't bother to make notes any more as it is now clear that feedback (even when asked for) means very little, so I can't say exactly what I "won". Suffice it to say that to pay 50 ribbons for any of the stuff I got is a joke. I pretty much expected that would be the case, but it was still disappointing. I know, right - when will I learn?

And then I used the hammers to upgrade the ginger bread house and the whole little animated spinning brick thing with noises that sound like a slot machine happened. That is the worst thing I have seen in this game. It is like being in a badly made Disney movie. As if the gingerbread man wasn't bad enough! Shame on you Inno!!! Do you really think that is good enough? Have a look at our cities and see the quality of the graphics and then look at the graphics in the event again. We are not 4 year old girls who think a dancing gingerbread man is cute. We get it - you are trying to recreate a casino in this event. Don't know why you would want to, but that certainly seems to be the intent. The thing is 4 year old girls do not gamble, nor do they buy diamonds and for that matter neither will I.

scout or research, no alternative
complete province
use pet food
Thanks. Those are pretty hard breaks. Good to know that Complete Province is back, will keep those 7/8 provinces for a bit longer, but there are only so many of these. I don't mind Scout or Research that much as still have less than 2 days scout times, and timeboosts work here (even though it looks like timeboosts will become a lot less frequent commodity).

Using PF is another bummer - I use PF only 3 times a week for events, and if timing is bad the next regular PF usage can be after almost 5 days of delay. PF are valuable enough not to waste them just to complete a single quest. And timeboosts won't help here. I can probably afford to burn extra 1 - maybe 2 - on Brown Bears a week, but I'd rather not if I don't need to. You never know when PF dry spell hits.

And all of this for what, 20 ribbons? Or did I hear that wrong?

Well, I already won the 9 artefacts, haven't been trying really hard, didn't use a single diamond and time instants were only used when it was in my interest (like researching a tech and speeding T6 production). The fillers are not fantastic good but once you get the knack of the thing it is not that bad. And anyway, the previous events were overly generous we should expect a nerf, maybe not this much but it was pretty unbalanced between casual players and hard core players

I always go for the time instants and this time I won't get a fraction of what I used to win. It helped a lot that I already had 6 Ws upgraded and 4 of my 6 t1 factories because most of the tasks I got are produce (huge amount of) supplies or (huge amount of) T1 (I only have 4 T3 factories and 5 T2, so it has been mostly produce steel) so basically catering casual playing and not heavy playing. So now I must be nearing the cutoff (to 20 ribbons per task?) I am really curious to see what's ahead.

This is the first time that I dont feel the need to participate in an event. Before this, I always thought that no matter how difficult it was, if I miss it I was going to stay behind the rest, specially with prizes like the phoenixes and the bears. And even if the main prizes were not that good (stonehenge, mermaids) you always had the possibility to stack up very good daily prizes like the Venar Rocks III, the Crab Hotel or the old and realiable Wishing Wells.
But now is different because not only the main prize is pretty average (yes that T2 bonus will help a lot in the game's global trade but its not like it will change significantly your city or anything) but you also cant aim for many worth daily prizes like before. So here I am, 5 days from the beggining of the event in the live worlds and honestly I couldnt care less about this lol

Hi guys,

Thanks for your feedback so far! Could you please elaborate on the statement that the new event mechanics would take away the free choice of strategy about what prizes you want to go for? We still have the Daily Rewards, as before, so you're still perfectly able to safe your ribbons for the days that have the Daily Rewards that you want. The side rewards are now just wrapped in presents instead of in chance percentages in chests, but you can still decide for yourself which days you find appealing to spend your ribbons on, so how would that be any different? :)

Because before we could save our event items, and choose which chest we wanted to pick/pay for. Different amounts paid, different % odds of winning the daily prize. But even not getting the daily prize in a chest, the "consolation" prize was still worth something. Now we HAVE to pick/pay for 16 chests, 50 event items each, for the guarantee of ONE daily prize. And if you hit "reshuffle" before getting the daily prize you've been saving for? Oh well. Too bad. But hey, here's 16 more chests for you to HAVE to pay for if you still want that prize you've been saving up for.

WORST change to event prizes EVER made.

Back in the days when I was still a Community Manager at Forge of Empires, this was one of the most beloved events and feedback was totally different there. So although the games have quite some similarities, apparently players like totally different things, which is interesting to see :)

Did it not occur to you that those very DIFFERENCES were what made people choose Elvenar over FoE, or vice versa? Why must every game be a cookie cutter of every other game?

Things I like :- The event music. The red ribbons as they are easier to see around my city. The main prize is a very attractive building to put alongside the previous winter event buildings.

Things I don't like - The plink plink plonk of the gingerbread brick choice when using hammers. Why not just put a brick in when clicking on the hammer. .

The roulette element has been increased and there is no strategy involved at all now. I really am not impressed with this introduction of the gambling style over recent events. My grandchildren have been asking me to play cities with them but I cannot allow this now. I think the game should be labelled as over 18, which is a great shame indeed.

We used to see lots of new buildings at these events with wonderful graphics, which were exciting and they were the driving force for taking part - Which ones to choose? How to alter the look of our cities and make them fresh again? Aren't they beautiful/funny/clever/useful. Now I understand the game has evolved, everything does, but it was the wonderful imaginations of the designers that attracted me as it was a unique game, there were none like it on the internet and that made it special. I think perhaps in the, of course, understandable 'how to increase profits for our business' ethos Elvenar is at the same time losing it's one real attraction to game players, its original heart. So for me, and of course it is just one opinion, I would like to see a winter event come with a wider variety of new buildings, the return of choice and more strategy and less pot luck. We can still all be encouraged to spend our money, but I prefer to spend mine on worthwhile things and I can see none in this gambling event. The drive to further increase addiction to gambling is only ever a downward spiral and having invested thousands of hours here I would like Elvenar to be better than that.

"Produce a good amount of any regular goods" it takes just T2 and T3 and it is not taking T1...I dont know why...dont like this uncertain quests..or it is another mistake?

To be honest, at the moment i can choose between produce a high amount of goods or buying knowledge points, with a reliability of 1:1. that's really a shame and to drive it even further to the top, fact is that I like very much the buildings to receive, but the most time I get knoledge points, coin rains and windfalls. just to say it in a few words: For me, the event so far has been a big disaster, no fun.
