I assume that they keep changing things to get people to buy more diamonds
Yeah. And ever since they've done that I'm spending less and less on Elvenar and more on hobbies that don't feel like a job, or exploit my addiction/gambling-prone personality. I really hope it'll backfire on Inno and their shareholders' grubby greedy hands for many more as it did with me. Maybe then they'll take notice and give a semblance of dignity back to this game by steering away from the online casino model and back towards strategy game model.
Thankfully one of my hobbies is scuba-diving, because I sure as hell won't be holding my breath, and I've a hunch the air tank will come in handy!

One thing is sure: I won't buy more diamonds.
They are turning Elvenar into a poorly made copy of FoE. So better to spend only on FoE. ;)

You reduce the rewards, you reduce the strategy, you increase again the random part in elvenar and you expect good comments ?
For FOE, it depends what it was before, it is not the same kind of players (there is a pvp part in foe), in elvenar, we are here to plan and to construct , not to play lotto !
NB: The mermaid event was totally insane and i hope to see never again because it was too much fun and takes too much time !

It took some work and several collections of bows, but I was able to get the 60 needed to open a box. Yay! I picked one and got 3 marble relics. I'm in Chapter 15. I probably don't need to share the excitement of getting 3 marble relics with anyone in Chapter 15.

My suggestion would be to lessen the number of prizes so that there would be a better chance NOT to get something silly, like 3 marble relics. I am very unlucky at games, which is why I'm not playing poker online. I'm playing a game that should reward me for the work I do, not for luck, which I don't have.

Think of it this way, because this is what it feels like: Go to work all week, then go to pick up your paycheck. The boss tells you that you have to pick a box, then says: "Sorry, this box only has a rock in it, come back next week and work all week and try again, maybe you'll get lucky and get paid." This is not a good thing for a game that can be so much fun.

Well, the third day and I'm already fed up with this. I just wish you end this, take week or two and comes with something better than this stupid online cassino.

I understand the need to change things to keep them interesting. I have no problem with requiring higher level workshops and factories early on in an event. I love events but I also hate when I am stuck between trying to progress my city or keep space open for frequent events. Current level factories and workshops solve that problem. I also have no problem with relics and other prizes being put in. None of my cities need them but smaller cites do and that's great that they are being included. I don't want to see that change. The problem I have with this event is what many others have expressed and that is, you have taken the strategy out of drawing for prizes in a game that is supposed to be a game of strategy and that's not good. I see FoE being used as an example in support for this and all I have to say about that is this is not FoE. What works there isn't necessarily going to work for this game. Also, I have players that quit or hardly play FoE because they no longer like events and other changes to it. Maybe trying to make events on Elvenar the same or similar isn't the best idea. Surely devs can find a middle ground that allows us some control over the prizes we draw for while keeping events new and exciting.

I thought these tasks were supposed to appear later on the event. And I got back to back gain vision vapor, the other was gain 9 VV if I remember correctly and for 13 ribbons but anyway I think the word play with the best known cold-hearted miser is quite appropriate for this miserly event.

that's the last quest of the first segment with mostly predefined quests, after that starts second one, which actually fits normal gameplay much more than any other previous events, since it asks mainly to produce some amount of goods (either t1 or t1||t2 or t1||t2||t3) and supplies + some other things like giving NH and using trader/wholesaler. Not sure how it will evolve in later segments, but I like second one.

@Marindor, Now there is were the problem lies.

As a developer you may have considered the side prizes as filler but as a player there are instances where we did actually get excited about the side prizes. In fact I see the side prizes in some cases more valuable than the daily prizes. It gives me an opportunity to "stock up" on valuable resources for the game.

As several players have mentioned before some side prizes are considered as "trash" while others are actually quite useful. This is also where the strategy comes into play instead of just dumb luck.

With the 3 chests you could look at the contents and calculate the odds of getting a daily prize versus what you call filler.
With my game play (and I am sure many others do this as well) if I see a chest with good odds of getting the daily versus the other chests but the filler is truly trash then I will go for a chest that has what I consider "more valuable" filler.

The perfect example is if the chest has Magical Manufacturing I will not pick it under any circumstance as I do not need or want anymore of these. I can create as many as I want cheap enough in my level 5 Magic Academy and I rarely use them in the first place.

On the other hand if I see a chest with filler that are time boosts I am more likely to take them because I happen to like time boosts.

THIS IS WHERE THE STRATEGY COMES INTO PLAY. I have a choice to move my odds in favor of the type of filler/side prizes that I want instead of just blind luck. This actually takes some thought process. This is how a player plans out their game play strategy.

Other players view trash and valuable filler differently and will make different choices than I would make.

All players value the ability to make choices that actually change and direct their game play. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT CONCEPT for a good game to survive. You start replacing the ability to make choices with random luck and the game slowly deteriorates and fades away.

The new mechanic is just dumb luck. Why even give us a choice to choose from. In reality you could just as easily replace it with a single button that says "random prize". There is no strategy involved at all. It is all just random luck.

This is what we as players are complaining about. With all of the changes that you are making you are slowly moving away from a player directed game to one that is driven by game developers and luck. You are taking the skill and fun out of the game.

Yes you are making all players equal where player skill and choices no longer matter anymore. Is this what you really want. If that is the case just give us one button marked "Next move" and be done with it.

If I could I would LOVE this post!

You all are destroying these events.

The last event I played on Beta, but passed on playing it in my 3 live cities. I will play this event here on Beta, see if I like the results...so far I don't, but maybe that will change. If this event continues to disappoint me, then I will pass on playing this in my live cities too. I am keeping a written log of the prizes I accumulate during this event to see if the types of prizes and quantities are worth my effort. So far, I have only gotten relics and rune shards.

That will make two back to back events in my live cities I will have ignored. Up side to that is, I will enjoy dedicating my city entirely to research, city growth, and guest race progress in between worthy events. I predict that I will be flying through the chapters instead of crawling through them.

Side prizes are meant as a filler, not to be the main ones to get excited about ;)
They never used to be filler. There were lots of options there that appealed to different people, and plenty of people would get excited about different things. If most prizes are now filler, and there's no strategic way to focus on what we don't consider filler, then there's very little of any interest, and the prizes are not worth the effort.
From time to time event mechanics will change to keep events fresh and not too repetitive :) If we would only stick to the chest system, it would become boring at a certain point as well, doing the same stuff over and over again. Our aim is to be able to offer you multiple kinds of events and not just the same old chest system over and over again with different pictures :)
That's an interesting way to spin things. I don't recall anyone calling the chest system 'boring' or saying they would prefer there was no strategy in winning prizes. It was largely well liked. Sounds like the system was changed because the developers felt like it, and not because of any player feedback suggesting it was anything other than a good system.

Keine Infos bei den Geschenken wie die Wahrscheinlichkeit für den Tagespreis ist?
In dem Fall hat sich das Event für mich erledigt. Der einzige Grund an einem Event teilzunehmen sind die Tagespreise.

I have not gotten the same quest back to back but just received my 3rd "Gain 400 Spell Fragments or Upgrade 1 building to Level 4 or higher" every other quest. The quest cycle still needs tweaking. . .

On a side note:

Look at this face. Look at that creepy fixed grin and those empty glossy black eyes. This is a face that stares into your soul. If they made an R-rated sequel to 'Nightmare Before Christmas', and called it something like 'Revenge of Christmas Town', this would be the main character. This is a creature that is going to brutally murder all your favourite characters in the most grisly and bloody way possible, and grin while it does it. I feel like I should set it on fire, but if I do it's just going to keep coming, slowly blackening and smelling of burnt sugar, while raising that horrible mallet ominously. This is a creature that is not going to die.
Congratulations, I hate it.

every later segment has 2 goups of quests which alternate between them, so you can easily get 10 same quests not back to back but every other, on top of that you have 3x quest to produce goods, 3x quest to produce supplies and 1x gain supplies in other group, basicly whole event you just producing supplies and T1
yes quests are much easier then before in finite cycle but for a cost of garbage side prizes

i believe that more random the mechanic is the more rewarding it should be just because its harder to get what you want and not other way around

we can argue that evolving building is 4x better then mermaid was in terms of value of goods it produces, but its not something so great that majority will want to spend money on

even if devs thinks that daily prizes should be the ones we should be excited for, i must say that this year i dont remember single normal event building which was so great i would want, there were some older buildings with better stats just because we progressed over the years and some specific buildings producing mana/seeds in case you are after them, but apart from that only good prizes were instants or for some people wishing wells, and thats really too few for this year, so if devs want to change event mechanincs here and there, they should also start thinking about changing prizes here and there, because being excited for wishing well every event just because there is nothing better is same boring as having same event mechaninc over and over again.

i dont know why after we get reshuffle present it must reshuffle all rewards immediately, why cant we control atleast that? find reshuffle, button appears and we should fish for other prizes from 16 and reshuffle whenever we want, presents are still too expensive and too much useless items for average players that its not like we will outsmart the system, many players will value PET FOOD over any daily prize in this event
