Thanks for your feedback so far! Could you please elaborate on the statement that the new event mechanics would take away the free choice of strategy about what prizes you want to go for? We still have the Daily Rewards, as before, so you're still perfectly able to safe your ribbons for the days that have the Daily Rewards that you want. The side rewards are now just wrapped in presents instead of in chance percentages in chests, but you can still decide for yourself which days you find appealing to spend your ribbons on, so how would that be any different?

Thanks for taking the interest to follow this thread.
Let me explain what everyone is trying to say.
There are two issues at hand.
The first is the lack of strategy to accumulate ribbons for the specific daily prize that you want.
Lets take for example that on day 12 the daily prize is 4x 14hr time boosts and I really want to get as many time boosts as possible.
So, I spend the first 11 days accumulating ribbons and maybe I get say 3000 ribbons saved up.
With the old 3 chest system I can use up all 3000 ribbons (approx 130 chests at avg 23 ribbons per chest) and get as many 4x 14hr time boosts as luck will allow.
With the new mechanics, as I understand it, there are only 16 prizes offered per day. On my first try there is a 1/16 (6%) chance of getting a 4x 14hr time boost. Worst case scenario is that I have to open all 16 presents before I get a single 4x 14hr time boost unless I hit a reshuffle beforehand and I lose all progress and my odds of getting the daily are reduced.
Best case scenario is that I get a 4x 14hr time boost on the first try and I have to open all of the rest of the (unwanted) presents until I find a reshuffle so that I can start again.
The second issue is the "unwanted" gifts.
For example with the 3 chest system I would look at the prize offerings before opening a chest.
If one of the chests had a prize that I didn't need or want (like Magical Manufacturing in my case) I would not select that chest even if it had a higher chance of getting the daily prize.
With the new mechanics I don't have any opportunity to skip the prizes that I don't want or think are useless for my game style. It becomes a complete lottery/casino. There is little to no skill involved.
I have to accept prizes that I don't care about and it is perceived as a waste of my hard earned ribbons.
Seriously, what was wrong with the old 3 chest system? What problem or complaint does this new system solve?
I think that this new prize mechanic should die in Beta and go back to the 3 chest system.
In all fairness, once I accumulate enough ribbons I will give it a fair try. This is Beta after all. Maybe I am not understanding it properly. The description doesn't sound very appealing. I will let you know after I have accumulate enough ribbons to try for multiple daily prizes.
