And what have you done with it after Mermaid's event? (In Zodiac Event the mechanics stayed the same)

I think everything can be done. Programmers for example could stay after hours, to fix if something went terribly wrong.

Nobody has given any single player any Time Booster, they've won it in fairplay.

[...] resulting in players literally building more than 15 Bears on their max level without spending 1 diamond [...]
You might also recall MOST OF THE PLAYERS mentioning last time after mermaids paradise that there should be max only one grand prize.
How many player(S) build more than 15 Bears on their max level?
[...] so we indeed had to cut back on the time boosters.[...]
No You did not! You just had to see what's coming next after Mermaids Paradise, or for ex. change person responsible for plannig systems for events.

so what are you actually suggesting for winter event? because this is thread about this event and not some old events

and as i said many times, only data after it ends, shows true numbers, not what some random player says
Is this so hard to understand?
You did not need any data to see that you get more time boosts back by using time boost for quests. That's pure maths.
And if u are not good in maths, you just need simulate it by rolling the chest like 50 times with 4x14h time boost as daily and then you see how many time boost you can get (using 85er chest consequently).

They just were to lazy to do cause they just want the easy money in these days.

They did not even check if the quest descriptions are correct. I can just report from german servers, there were many quest with wrong information or not transleted to german. This is an absolute no go for the live servers and shows that Inno does not invest any time to proof it before get it started.

This game becomes more and more loveless with every further event.

i dont care 1 bit about past events, pls focus on this one, thank you
There was in previous posts the SIMPLEST way to "handle the problem" - to cut down amount of ribbons needed to open presents, and even this went wrong by:
1. leaving still too big amount of ribbons to open present
2. DECREASING amount of ribbons the players are able to gain in questline
3. DECREASING amount of ribbons you can win in a present

This is what I see by doing things written above

OK, we have to give something to players, so We will reduce amount of ribbons needed to open a present
but
they can't have it so easy
so maybe they won't notice that we will decrease ribbons that they can get.
&
In the result "nothing changes" (for us) in our system of this event. The equation stays the same.

amount of ribbons is not a problem, and wont be changed, as explained above by marindor
amount of daily prizes is a problem and only that could be adjusted

Another thing ppl suggested here was Present with Reshuffle to be always vissible - to at least have a little bigger chances to get daily present - NOT TO WIN 15 or more grand prizes.

what i think went wrong after mermaids event, is that they removed the quest: complete a province. With this quest eventually you either run out of instants to finish hurrying the scout, you cannot afford the negotiation costs anymore, you cannot afford the scout cost anymore.
If that was still there, you would have to make a decision at some point, do i continue and ruin all my future events, or do i stop now so i still have some provinces for future events. All the quests asked for stuff that are virtually limitless (or could be hurried by spells), and that was the main issue with zodiac.
now they have the scout or research a tech again. i guess its kinda the same quest, but i hate this one, i rather have the complete.

what went wrong is they listened to feedback of some people who just want to get more freebies, and other players managed to find a way to exploit those changes. A lot of the suggestions made here, also have that effect, its a huge improvement for the chill player, but also a huge exploit for the hardcore player.
Inno needs to find a way to tackle both issues (increasing the cost of grand prizes exponentially might be a solution for that)

i am not so sure about that, we had this with phoenix event, and specially diamond players where crying, why they should pay more for same thing then others who could get it for free, and they dont want diamond players to be mad and not spend anymore
thats why i think they removed it

Maybe a bit more context would help here: Of course we've seen the overall reaction and feedback to the event mechanics itself, but there's also limited time before the Live release so changing the mechanics completely is not something that can be done at this moment. Of course we will consider the feedback for future events and discuss where we want to go from here, but there's also the "pressing" matter for the current event, so for now it's about finetuning the system that we have as good as possible, indeed without interrupting the game balance.
The quarrels are becoming boring and meaningless given the official answers that I would call ridiculous. The Beta turns out to be totally useless since you use the players on live servers as testers for events thought probably in the grip of psychotropic substances. Seriousness, professionalism and above all respect for us players would like the return to the old system and the adoption of the new only after having resolved all the critical issues.

i dont remember anyone crying about it, for everyone the one time increased cost was still out of reach.
i also dont see why diamond players would cry about it, if its known up front, and not secretly hidden untill you reach them.
So like in case of zodiac: first 27 artifacts cost 10 event_payback, after that everything cost 20 even_payback, if you get another 27 artifacts, then everything costs 40 event_payback, next again 80.

in case theres only 1 grand prize, it would go up after first 9 artifacts.
I personally prefer this choice and good rewards, instead of mediocre rewards because we win too many of them. mediocre rewards doesnt make the money roll.

because it wasnt known upfront, they bought event currency, reached first few grand prizes and then it increased, and money they have spend on it devalued before they got it, unless you check game files, but not everybody do so
of course they were angry, in my fellowship aswell

Well but you should account that compared to autumn zodiac you need about twice the amount for a daily and you get less than a quater event currency for one quest (later 20 ribbon quests). So u get about 1/8 dailys for same number of quests (and perhaps 2 or max. 3 Evolving Buildings, but no one wants 3 of them either ;P) And you can't reach hundreds of time instants anymore. In my opinion without the scout/complete province quests at least the amount of dailys would be ok. Perhaps like 12-15 for moderate effort and about 25 for huge effort. That would be fair I think.

Reforming the gift system would be really be too much effort and then there is not enough time to test it properly.
In my opinion, easiest way to make it to a nice christmas event is to rewrite these 3 or 4 quests, that is a few minutes.

If Inno replaces the unicorn as dailys with "Turm des Winterkönigs" or "Burg Schneeflocke" (do not know how these buildings are called in the english version) it would be a perfect christmas event and everybody would be happy again ;D

Here is what I like about the event:
1. Gift-opening. Don't hate me, but it is the holiday season. And please don't tell me you have never gotten a gift that wasn't quite what you wanted.
2. New buildings. Images are way too small to see unless I actually win them, but I like the Elvenar art. Maybe hard-core players can't make room for inefficient buildings, but having one or two in my city isn't going to change much.
3. Highly visible ribbons around my city. Thank you Inno.

Here is how I would change the event:
1. Dump the reshuffle gift. No one ever received an empty box as a gift and was happy about it, unless maybe they were a cat. Or a small child, but only then if it was a BIG box.
And if you can't do #1, then at least:
2. Move the new buildings later in the event as daily exclusives, so that players have time to save up ribbons and have a better chance of winning these prizes.
3. So minor, but when I finish the gingerbread house, I never get to see it with the star on top because once the last brick is placed, a new unfinished house takes its place. And yes, the gingerbread guy is slightly creepy, but no more so than the hosts of some of the other events.

You might recall one of the players mentioning last time how they were aiming for the time boosters and by doing so, got more time boosters in return than the quests took, resulting in players literally building more than 15 Bears on their max level without spending 1 diamond. From a company perspective that is of course not a healthy situation so we indeed had to cut back on the time boosters. With the current balance the aim is still to be able to get 1 reward building on a good high level without the need to spend a lot of premium, but we just can't maintain the high numbers of time boosters we gave away in the last event.
How hard would it be to have the Grand Prize simply not reappear after enough artifacts have been gained to get it to level 10, and just keep handing Carting Libraries / Lindworms / WWs / whatever afterwards? That'd give players a sense of accomplishment over having "finished" an event (as was the case with the old-school events with the 3 grand prizes), and it'd give the hardcore ones a reason to keep going (well, probably not in this Winter event given the nerfs to boosters and the annoying mechanics, but perhaps the next time around).
As to the underlined part, I can't see it happen for endgame players, not with quests that require to either Scout or Research, with no third alternative. Not to mention, going from 15 to 25 VVs... yeah, no, I don't see anyone going anywhere "a good high level" with the current format. Not even by dropping a hundred bucks into the event.
P.s. if the devs felt too many bears were won, why include bear evolution artifacts as a prize for the FA? It's really bewildering.

So... happy holidays? ;)
Well yeah, between the underwhelming prizes, casino mechanics and frustrating quests, I won't certainly be spending as much time on this event as I did on the previous one. Which is the proverbial silver lining, I suppose.
