So basically you're asking us to suppress our emotions? It's well known that that's not healthy. Some of the sarcasm has been very funny, which is a bit of light relief that we need after the 2 latest awful Events! And humour is a healthy way to react to a frustrating experience.:eek::rolleyes:
he's just asking to explain theses emotions so that they can improve what we don't like, not suppress the emotions

No @Lynkaster , what @Marindor is really saying and asking us is "The developers are not going to go back to the way is was with the 3 chest system. They are moving forward with a new system. What can they do to make the NEW SYSTEM more enjoyable".

We all would like a return to the 3 chest system but I don't see any chance of that happening. Certainly not for this event. Maybe if we express our displeasure enough they might address it for the next event but I have no idea.

The best that we can do right now, before Beta goes to Live servers, is to provide suggestions on how to ease the pain of a completely flawed rewards system and try to make it playable for the Live players.

If anyone has any ideas on how to easily turn a casino event into a strategy event I think that would go a long way towards making this event less painful. I provided one suggestion several messages back but I don't know if anyone is paying attention to it. I haven't seen any feedback from @Marindor yet.

@Marindor has already said a significant change like going back to the 3 chest system is not in the cards.
And lets not argue over what "we" consider a significant versus an easy change.

Yes @Burger Meister Meister , all suggestions are certainly read and forwarded, so thank you for sharing. The core of what you're saying is indeed true, we generally have about 2 weeks of Beta testing new events, so expecting to change the entire system within such a short time frame is not in the cards, neither is completely canceling it. I like to be open and transparent about that, so everyone knows what to expect. The best thing we can make out of it now, is gather as much suggestions as possible to improve on this system in the time that we have, to make sure the experience is better on Live when it launches there. It's indeed also not about "surpressing emotions", but we know the general feeling about the event and that's more than clear. So instead of getting stuck into those complaints over and over again without getting farther, as a Beta community we can all be a lot more valuable if we fire as many solutions as possible, so the game team can work with those. As I said before, of course expressing your disappointment or angriness is perfectly fine, but each day that passes with just sarcasm or complaints and no improvement suggestions, is basically a day lost, which is a shame.

I'm not a game designer myself, nor is it up to me to make any decisions. I'm merely here to communicate company decisions and information to the players and forward your concerns, feedback and suggestions to the company. I can't make any promises about the future, since the ultimate decision making is not in my hands, but what I can do is forward as many suggestions as possible so our game team has something to work with and knows your views on what is and is not enjoyable. As you know from past experience, we do have the opportunity to use this Beta community for improvement before Live release, so let's take that opportunity and use the short time we have for that as good as possible.

Want to see the biggest joke? The "fillers" I got today and even so they are better then the previous days, at least the culture building is 2x2 not 1x2. One time instant, 1h (and not bad not being 1mn), covered . I have another supplies instant and 4 (yep, 4) KPs. I won't even bother to shuffle this.

What I miss the most is time instants, and the big ones, 8h to 20h, but the higher I saw so far is 2h.

Easy changes:

- get rid of the insulting prizes like 1 rune, 1 spell and 3 relics and put big time instants
- make the shuffle button permanent and active after the first present opened so we can try the daily prize without having to go through all the garbage
- halve the prize of a shot or make it at the most 40 ribbons
- make this the one and only event with this miserable system and bring back the chest system for the next events

My feedback after few day of this new "bombonniere" event:

In general, I like the idea, but 60 ribbons for one shot is way to much - huw about 20 ribbons per a try? Moreover, the prizes we get are not satisfying. For me, every instant ist welcomed, I spend everything, gold for KP, supplies and time boosters for an army, portal profits, KP in whatever form. The spells could be great rewards, lets say in packages with at least 5 pc. (all of them), I appriciate the pet food amog the prizes as well. relics are good for newer players, so they can stay, but again, here I would suggest packages with at least 20 of them. Daily rewards...I dont know, none of them excites me really. The only hope I have is, that some older stuffs like winter star could appear.
The new random system still have some problems, I keep having the quest: Collect 3 Enchantments from MA : so, I have this task like every third or forth in the row. And why should I gain the spells just from MA? Btw I was surprised, when I fullfiled the quest with 2 orange spells from panda. So, how it is? I can gain the spells just in MA or elswhere as well? There are not so many sources for entchantmens and we have this frame for MA? It is unfair...Devs could in future add at least some AW for shortening time in MA. There are some other quests I am not so sure, where I can gain the wished item (gain supplies or some production).

King of Bugs
the wording is confusing in that MA spells quests
what it means i think is that you need to collect spells which you can create in magic academy, so getting teleport spell wont count

Well, in my opinon it is not useful to start storms hours after the start of an event which runs for about 4 weeks.
Just because it is something new and in first view you do not get what you expect to get. Give it a chance before pulling it into dirt.

Play it 4-5 days and then u can make a first judgement, but not after a few hours or one day.

And well, people with 1(!) t1 manufacture complaining about too big amounts of t1 cannot be taken serious. With 1 t1 manu there wasn't a way in the last autumn event too.

The complains about 60 ribbons are too much for one gift after this short time is senseless too. You cannot make a forecast about how many ribbons u will get after a few days. As it seems the amount of ribbons u get accelerates very fast.

So, just wait and see how many daily's you can really achieve. I guess you can get many of them in this system.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your feedback so far! Could you please elaborate on the statement that the new event mechanics would take away the free choice of strategy about what prizes you want to go for? We still have the Daily Rewards, as before, so you're still perfectly able to safe your ribbons for the days that have the Daily Rewards that you want. The side rewards are now just wrapped in presents instead of in chance percentages in chests, but you can still decide for yourself which days you find appealing to spend your ribbons on, so how would that be any different? :)
With the three chest system, you could choose how many premiums to spend based on what was offered. Going only for low-premium chests was a better "bang" for your buck - you could get 1 point toward the prize for a low premium and could choose which prize you wanted based on the odds. This way, you spend 60 premiums no matter what and could end up with a junk prize and only one brick. If you wanted to make it much more difficult for everyone to win the grand prizes and complete their evolving building, you are going about it the right way.

I really can't get behind this event as it is not rewarding enough to have the expense of ongoing player costs. i.e. when you have to buy KP for a quest that drives up your costs for KP forever! As far as I am concerned this Event is not for the Players benefit as much as as it is for the developers. It is understandable that the developers should earn enough to make it work for everyone players and and the company. The D's have twisted the game to a point that makes it more costly than it's worth! The players the new players and the old players have become exhausted with over playing and not being able to build their city's and keep up with the events spire and Fa's . Yes that is the game But to me supply and demand also means I will get what I am wanting to Buy!?

I saw 5h once, and I've heard there is 8h one as well - all singles. Don't think there are 14h+ instants in the presents, nor there are multiples.

In the old system, there was a reward of 1 star/feather or so for a chest to buy at 18. The 54er chest rewarded you with always 3 stars. Now we have to pay 60 ribbons to get 1 up to 3 hammers, in the middle 2 hammers, thats a decrease of more than 50 %.

On the other hand, I am earning 17 ribbons now with one quest. That means, I am not able to open only 1 box/day if I get a quest and stick on. I have to finish at least 3 quests a day to get only 1 ONE! try to get a box. Or I have to do 7 quests a day to have only 2 tries. 7 quests to finish within one day is a lot of quests. With the old rotation chest, I had a chance of opening i.e. 2 x 18, 1 x 29, 1 x 54. so I had more than double possibilities to be lucky with the things I won and also I had a chance to sort what I am looking for.

With this low number of ribbons for one quest, I am also not able to collect enough ribbons to open up more boxes, when I like the daily. I will be able to collect for some days and then try to open about 8 to 10 boxes, that means about half of one present table.

What I am going to say: Increase the number of ribbons, which can be won with filling quests and also lower the needed ribbons to open a box. Also remove this silly stuff of low time boosts or relics or every cheap price and lower the number of boxes, so I get a chance to win a daily.

Also give us more hammers for one box, otherwise there is no chance to get the main price up to 8 at least. Not having the main price on at least 8, it will not be worth the fields it needs to be build.

Next step is lower the number of presents from 16 to max. 8 and offer a reshuffle for free, not a reshuffle automatically, and make me going to lose my chance of the daily

At least, bring back the old rotation chest with the next event.

I feel certain that you have more than enough suggestions now to make improvements before launching on live. People have stepped up and given you the good stuff and explained it and everything.

My question is what will you do to make it better for the Beta players? If we have to wait 2 weeks, the event will be half over. I see no reason to continue taking part the way it is now, which leaves me in a bad position in terms of gaining event buildings. And please don't tell me that is too bad, that is what a Beta server is all about. Bad decision were made when this event was designed., it was launched in spite of the fact that you should have known how much outrage it would create and you now expect us to help you find a way to somewhat save the situation before launching on the live servers. While not really being able to gain anything for our cities. It is clear how Beta players would feel ripped of by that situation, right?

LOL, no repeating quests they said? Here is an excerpt from the quest list that @Jackluyt posts on FB:

Code:
54. Gain a sack of Supplies (143 K) - 19 ribbons
55. Produce fresh Supplies (165 K) to provide to the inhabitants of your city - 20 ribbons
56. Gain a sack (1536 K) of Coins - 20 ribbons
57. Produce fresh Supplies (165 K) to provide to the inhabitants of your city - 20 ribbons
58. Gain a sack (142 K) of Supplies - 20 ribbons
Well, I suppose technically speaking the exact same amounts do not repeat, but 4 out of 5 quests in a row are gain a bunch of supplies. I mean, I wouldn't mind specifically those as you can just burn instants here, but I can imagine that it is not specific to gain supplies quests...

Yeah, they even failed to separate quests into 2 groups that don't interfere... Gain vs Produce is different, but not so much. Also as I've said this it the worst implementation of "don't repeat quests". Even with equal chances for each condition in the group (which is better than 15% vs 1% in previous event), 10% is big enough to get the same one over and over again every other quest.
But if we consider
Produce a good amount of Marble, Steel or Planks
Produce a good amount of Marble, Steel, Planks, Crystal, Scrolls or Silk
Produce a good amount of any type of regular Goods
and
Produce fresh Supplies for the local food market
Produce Supplies to retool your craftsmen and workers
Produce fresh Supplies to provide to the inhabitants of your city
to be the same quest, the chance of getting them for every other quest grows up to 30%. Yeah, they ask for different amounts, but both would be done mostly with the same buildings (due to lower amount of T1 requested even if other tiers are accepted).

The message that the event is horrible is being ignored. Just as the first random quest event complaints were ignored when they first appeared. Everyone jumped on board trying to 'make it better' and they implemented the 'better' and kept the randomness while completely IGNORING that no one wanted it.. Players keep trying to tell them what will 'be better for live event' but it won't. The live game players won't like this any more than we will and the changes aren't going to 'make it better'.

The message that needs to be sent is that we don't like it AT ALL and we don't want to see it again. But as long as folks continue to provide 'changes that make it better' they take that as a sign that they can continue.

I have asked a question many posts back and that has been completely ignored. Others have said similar to me since I made my post and those have also been ignored.

I do think that if you can pass on the 'changes' you can also pass on the questions and get an answer. Stop trying to 'make this better'. Just as an FYI what is 'better' to some of you is NOT better to me. I don't ever want Pet Food as a 'for instance'. I do want relics BUT I ALSO WANT TO BE ABLE TO CHOOSE to want relics. Not some random choice that you really have NO CHOICE in. Pick and hope for the best. Take this event BACK to FOE. It's just not wanted in Elvenar.

I can assure you I won't be playing in live. Nothing about this is going to change my feelings. Go back to what was WANTED. Actually LISTEN to your players for once.

Hi @Marindor

Big mistakes were made with the introduction of the changes to this event. Big mistakes were made in previous events as well.
Beta is not the time to try new things. Beta is the time to fix bugs.
I fully understand that it is too late to make significant changes to improve it for this event but I have provided, what I as a programmer for 35 years, would consider reasonable changes in order make it playable on a Live world.

That being said, I would really like to talk to you at some point in time about how to communicate and comment on proposed changes BEFORE they ever make it as far as a Beta world. Do you have some sort of forum for discussing ideas that the game designers are considering that players can participate in BEFORE they ever make it into source code?

Thanks BMMB

@vance b You don't have to wait to the half event to judge it, if it is going to be good or bad. The main problem with this event is the wrong core mechanics.
Wrong to take our decision away with just 1 random chance of 16 "rewards" (half of them are garbage anyway and the rest has pitiful amount)
Wrong to significantly decrease the chance of getting the daily price.
Wrong quest random mechanics where you repeteably keeps getting quests designed to slow you down.
I understand why my brother's wife has completely stopped playing events.

btw. I also keep getting the goods quests - again produce, that's going to stop me for another half day. (5xT1 + 3xT2 + 2xT3 - is that enough @vance b ?)
My last 3 quests where goods followed by 4 encounters and produce goods again.
So far I'm still at 16 ribbons/quest. What's the point of having the daily rewards in the first days, when you have no chance of getting them? Well, uhm.. Unicorn, no thanks anyway, only few unicorn collectors wants them anyway. Hope there will be something usefull in the second half of the event when I have enough ribbons to get one or two daily rewards with this horrible system.
Where are the times when I could get enough daily mantas/burning pools to satisfy my mana needs?
