Tournament / Spire spreadsheet

King of Bugs
With all unit upgrades available it was finally the time to make some spreadsheet

This spreadsheet is meant for end tech players where everybody is leading to anyway and for provinces 10+ where all the fun starts

First some facts
Tournament
  • Work in Progress

Spire
  • every spire has only 16 maps (they are all different), encounter 1 on stage 1 is same as encounter 1 on stage 3
  • all waves have same maps, meaning encounter 16 on stage 1 all 3 waves is same as encounter 16 on stage 3 all 3 waves
  • enemy setups are exactly the same on every map, they are just increasing in numbers and adding second wave
  • there are 6 difficulty levels, which increasing lineary
  • stage 2 is same as stage 1, with only adding second wave for normal encounters
  • stage 3 is same as stage 2 (both waves), with only adding 3rd wave for guardian bosses
  • if you fight in spire on first stage and have no problems winning them (or some of them), then you will have almost the same results on stage 2 (1st wave) and stage 3 (1st wave)
  • if you fight in spire on second stage and have no problems winning them (or some of them), then you will have almost the same results on stage 3 with same setup/strategy
  • difficulty of spire is determined on the start, and is not changed during the week
  • if you dont make any progress in your city during week, your spire enemy setup will be exactly the same as last week for every encounter/every stage

Some FaQ about spreadsheet
Work in Progress

Spire
  • spire squad size is taken from Overview Tab for City 1
Your actuall Spire Squad Size / Difficulty will give you Spire Squad Size on first encounter

spiredif.PNG
  • this spreadsheet will shows you required goods for every encounter for convincing or squad size of enemy
Edit: 02.02.2020

I have added 2 more tabs to spreadsheet

Best units
  • Enter Player Squad Size and Enemy Squad Size
  • Choose different roundings for better overview
  • Table shows you top 3 units damage wise based on your buffs which you have entered in Tournament tab
  • You can compare any 2 units in last 2 columns
Edit: 25.07.2020
Removed some Tabs
I am revamping whole spreadsheet due tournament changes
Work in Progress

Dont forget to save spreadsheet to make any changes in it

Tournament
  • every tournament has 15 possible encounters which are all different
  • every type of tournament has same encounters with changed units
  • all encounters are going in a row
  • when you first open new tournament province in round 1, game picks up random encounter out of 15, (shortcut 1), lets say 5
  • second encounter is second in a row (shortcut 2)=6, third is 3rd in a row (shortcut 3)=7 and 4th is 4th in a row (shortcut 4)=8
  • second round start with encounter #6 and ends with #9
  • last round start with encounter #10 and ends with #13
  • 1 full province clear all 6 rounds leads to 9 different encounters from 15 possible
  • every tournament province has only 4 maps, every round has same maps, meaning map 1 on encounter 1 in round 1 is same as map 1 on encounter 1 in round 6
  • maps are not rotating like encounters do, which leads that every map has different setup throughout the tournament
  • world map provinces have 8 encounters out of 15 possible, they are all going in a row similar to tournament (shortcut 1-8)
  • opening first encounter in round 1 is enough to know all enemy setups for all rounds
  • checking all 4 maps in round 1 and finding the Bad ones can save you units, because you already know what type of enemy setup you will have on that map in every round and instead of having big loses you can negotiate (if you like)

With this in mind i have created spreadsheet, listing all possible 15 encounters for every type of tournament

Some FaQ about spreadsheet
Tournament
  • only edit yellow cells
  • first you choose encounter type
  • it will then show you all 15 possible encounters
  • now you can select encounter 1-15 based on your 1st encounter in your province
  • squad size is your squad size from barracks
  • then you can choose number of province from 10+
  • add your buffs from Fire Phoenix (0.5 = 50%), Combat buildings (0.5 = 50%) and Ancient wonders (0.2 = 20%)
  • now you can select your preffered type of unit, spreadsheet will then calculate max possible and min possible hits to kill every enemy in every round using only this unit
  • have you ever wondered how namy combat buildings to build and not to build too many? Thats the way to find out
  • you can also select Rounding 0 - full hits or 1 - partial hits (if you wanna see how much more buff you need to lower the amount of hits needed)
  • damage reduction from debuffs is ignored in this spreadsheet, because you dont want to get many hits
Spire Combat

  • You can select player army and enemy army setups for Spire
  • Select Rounding 0 - full hits or 1 - partial hits
  • Enter Player Spire Squad Size and Enemy Spire Squad Size
  • Switching between waves shows hits for other waves, you cant change your setup for wave 2 and 3, but you can change setup for enemy
  • Note that there is currently a bug which reshuffle position of your units if you use different combination then 5x same unit
Preffered setup for tournament
  • here you can select tournament type and it will show you 2 options to deal with every possible encounter, also showing how to select units in army selection screen
  • this will be different for many depending on your buffs and bonuses, you can make your own preffered setups in Preffered setup data writing exact unit names for your fellowship

This looks great - especially facts about maps / troops rotation, I did not know about that.

I have done pretty much the same work for the Spire, and all coefficients look more or less the same, so here is some independent verification ;) These are not quite exactly like that (calculated numbers are close, but do not always match), but are good enough for most practical purposes. I assume the initial Spire squad size is not really an integer, but another calculated number, hence coefficients wobble a bit in different scenarios.

I'll have to look more at tournament setups - that's a lot to unpack. But one things just popped up, looking at the current marble tournament. Are you sure you mean Frog Princes in some encounters there? FPs are light melee specialists, I would think that you want Senior Orc Strategists...

There are many roundings involved so i used just 2-3 digits to round them

For me FP is one of the best unit right now for 2 reason, they can attack anyone in first round on every map layout, no other unit apart from mortar can do that and they dont need to move - they are not blocking other units in narrow paths like Strategists, take this in mind and you can ignore map layout, it doesnt matter how it looks you will hit 5 times in first turn (if they dont die before that). With bad map layout your units either dont do any damage, they block each other when moving or enemy hits them while you dont

@Dony, I don't understand how the excel sheet works for the Spire: in the tab Spire I don't see anything related to combat, just army dimension to catering conversion. Am I pointing to the wron excel sheet? Thank you :)

That tab is inactive for the time being, once i finish with tournament i will redo that tab aswell, but we are all waiting for changes in composition and such first
