not a lot really, it was a chance for currency, not a guaranteed thing

Wrong city, I meant this :)

I mean they are trying new things all the time. I remember you could won event currency from mystery chests. So people just piled up a lot and opened them during events. They had for sometime infinite amount of quests. Or 100+ , there were random quests. Since I started playing almost every year they tried something new. Before the phoenixes, every building was a set building. Since then almost everything Evo. I think the best layout was for the carnival tavern set. That if you complete all the quest you were automatically granted the set. And you couldn't get more set pieces, but loads of fun stuff from chests.

They removed the currency from the mystery chest because a lot of people complained about the lower chance of winning diamonds during events and refused to open the chest until the event ended.

And still it would make it still less pay2win as currently is. and I would much rather get ECs then another snowy tree, manamill or whatever culture building...

Some people that are already complaining they can not get the full set are using the wrong settings/collecting of points, in my opinion.
If they have a choice on 3 beacons say 22, 23 and 29, they will take the 23 beacon for it might give you 30 Sorcerers knowledge.
Same with the 75 and 79 beacons.
You calculate on a small chance you have some luck of hitting the bonuses that has only a 10% chance of giving you some extra SKs.

I only use the rule I take what I know for sure gives me the most points.
With this rule, what I get as a bonus is nice but I don't calculate on it.
At this moment I only need 21 points for the final set building and that is what I can get with ease.

As a very old math teacher told me, If you start calculating with chances and luck and you are 100% correct, that is the only moment you can go to the cassino and it will be the last moment you will see your monney, for it will be gone for ever.

@Bor de Wolf 1965 unless you have already won at least 1500 SK, it is impossible for you to be at 239 staffs. Are you sure you are looking at the right buildings? One of the grand prize buildings is not part of the set.

So I am not at 239 points.
And no, I don't have an ashen phoenix on this account nor did I buy the building that give you 1 SK on every SK you pickup around your town.

At least you could use strategy to have better event score. Now there's no more strategy. Either you win a lot of currency by chance or you must buy with diamonds... and to not give at least 1 full set for completing event is just without explanation. I understand additional fragments etc. But not fragments that are essential to first set bonuses. And tbh the problem is last set piece, it should be placed where "sleeping golem" is in rewards

Same with the 75 and 79 beacons but I say it is stupid.

Sorry, but I think your math teacher may have missed the point, and taught the wrong lesson.
Did he not realize that every casino in the world uses "chances" in their calculations and that is precisely why they are so successful and profitable?

By all means, don't count on being statistically lucky, or even average, but to ignore the odds, in the long run, is a losing proposition.

Chests are just so uninspiring.

Sorry @SoggyShorts but my teatcher was right in the 70s/80s and he is right even now.
Any Cassino knows that you win as a gambler in the long run is lower as 100% and that means they make a profit of you no matter what.
Why do you think they exist after years, they make money and a lot
At the back of any one armed bandit is written: "I will win on the long run"

Exactly, any casino knows what the CHANCES are and sets the rules accordingly.
Your (and your teacher's) advice to "ignore the chances" is wrong and misses the lesson that casinos can teach us.
Or you misunderstood your teacher.

Either way, you have to USE the odds, or else you have worse results.

This is true on both sides of the table.

Your example of picking 22 instead of 23 with 10% chance of 30 return is an example of not understanding how to use odds in your favor. You are playing as a bad gambler when you should be playing like a casino.

This loading screen just appeared in Beta.
I wonder if this means we are going straight on to a new event when the current one ends?

first of all, casinos are notorious money laundering machines, so their true profit is hard to tell
second, "chances" and 100% aren't things to use combined
third, there is a calculated risk for the casino, because it plays large numbers of games, so logically the
Law of large numbers
applies. The same cannot be said for the individual player.

I I used to be able to get a fully-evolved item plus.
They then restricted how many quests you could do, which results in not being able to get all of the artifacts UNLESS YOU SPEND MONEY.
I'm sure this is by design. I get that they need to make money, and I have bought a lot of diamonds in the past, but this just irritates me and makes me LESS likely to spend money on the game.
