Dear Humans and Elves,

Today's update brings new additions to the Battle System, as well as balancing changes to some units, based on player's feedback. We also made the Wholesaler's offers more dynamic and fixed a couple of bugs! Please find the full list of changes below.

  • To continue the trend we started with version 1.15, we are giving you more, new, battle-related content:
    • Humans will now have access to the Mortar II - the technology for this can be found in Chapter V, and will remain optional until the next update; due to this, the technology to unlock the first level of the Mortar that was added in the last update has now become mandatory to unlock
    • Both Humans and Elves get access to the Training Grounds levels 5-8 with a new technology in Chapter V. This technology will remain optional until the next update; due to this, the technology to research the first levels of the Training Grounds that was added in the previous update has now become mandatory to unlock for Elves (it already was for Humans)
    • Elves will now have access to the Cerberus II, which can be unlocked in Chapter IV. This technology will remain optional until the next update.

  • The icons for the unit types have been slightly altered to make them easier to distinguish
  • We have given the Army Selection Screen a major overhaul: you are now able to see easily which unit is strong against which other units, and more improvements are on the way for future updates
  • Tooltips in the Unit Information Screens have been adjusted to be clearer
  • It is now a lot easier to see if and where you have missing unlocked technologies in the Research Tree, and we added easier scrolling through this menu as well

  • The Wholesaler's offers are now working differently: instead of always having the same offers, the Wholesaler now shows offers that change every day. When buying an offer, the costs increase, but are reset again when the timer reaches 0.
  • Some changes have been made to battle units:
    • The War Dog (NPC unit) was renamed to Hellhound
    • Sorceresses' and Enchantresses' attack range has been decreased slightly
    • The bonuses from abilities are no longer summed up, but rather multiplied - this resolves problems where the attributes can add up to 100% or more, making it impossible to finish battles, and makes for quicker battles in general
    • Many units have received slight balancing adjustments, also based on community feedback

  • Resolved a problem where random Rune Shard rewards did not work correctly for players who did not have any Ancient Wonder researched yet
  • Retaliation in Battle was not always reset correctly after a round, which has now been fixed
  • Fixed a problem where city graphics were not loaded correctly
  • Centered an image of the Blossom Mage in the Research Tree
  • Updated the text of one Orcs and Goblins quest to fit both races

We just implemented a hotfix which solves the following issues:
  • Resolved an error when accessing an Ancient Wonder window
  • The display of Wholesaler prices is now correctly centered and fixed in position
  • The countdown timer of the Wholesaler that was stuck has been fixed
  • Fixed a problem where the price of a City Expansion would show as 16000K if you had none available to place
  • Adjusted a highlight position in the tutorial
  • Fixed the display of the arrow that points at the chapter in the Research Tree

Dear Humans and Elves,

Today we updated Beta to the newest version of 1.17, which includes several changes and bugfixes.

Wholesaler
Due to your feedback, we have decided to not bring the current state of the Wholesaler to the Live worlds with our next update. So, we are reverting the changes on Beta for now. Please do realize that we will be changing the functionality of the Wholesaler at a later point in time - the current plan is sometime early next year. We will do this with the feedback we got from you in mind, though. We have drafted some mock-ups for what it will look like later on for you, so that you can already know what will be coming to you later. In the new design, you can expect the following:
  • You will still be able to choose what resource you want to pay, like you could in the old Wholesaler - this seems to have been the biggest concern with the new Wholesaler so far. So, when the new Wholesaler will be implemented again, you will be able to choose if you want to pay for the resource with Coins, Supplies or your Boosted Good of the respective tier.
  • The amount you can buy per purchase will still depend on your Main Hall's level.
  • The price will still gradually increase per purchase, but will reset to the default values each day.

Bug fixes
  • Adjusted the alignment of the collect time on Mana producing buildings
 
We have just updated Beta with the following changes:
  • The maximum number of premium city expansions you can buy has been lowered to 23, to make the amounts more fair. We have also increased the prices for this particular type of city expansion to reflect its value better.
  • You can now click the 'i' to access the unit information screen at the battle results screen
  • Mana now correctly decays
  • Increased the available size for text in a unit tooltip
  • Fixed a display problem in the Fellowship window
  • Resolved a problem where the number for the amount of notifications could be positioned wrongly
  • Fixed the counter for unread private messages
  • Resolved an error when hovering buildings in the build menu
  • Added sounds to the Barrack productions
  • Fixed alignment of icons in the unlock screen for the Advanced Scouts technologies
  • Resolved an issue with the amount of available Rune Shards not displaying properly when you didn't reopen the Ancient Wonder menu
 
We just updated Beta with the following changes:
  • Fixed an issue that could get you stuck in the tutorial
  • Fixed a display problem that caused internal errors when trying to construct a Magic Residence
  • Fixed the problems with the Tournaments - we will be enabling those again shortly
 
While the initial tests of the Tournaments look promising, we have to keep them disabled for a bit longer, as we found a couple of small issues with them which we would like to correct before re-enabling them. Of course we will adjust the end time of the Tournament accordingly when everything is ready to go. Thanks for your patience so far - it is much appreciated!
