Hi guys,

Crafting recipes can and will indeed change from time to time. They are not premanently set in stone, but sometimes a few recipes will be removed and others will be added.

Just looking at the pathetic level 31-35 AW benefits.

Crystal Lighthouse
That move to the goods in 3 chests for the Crystal light house was a massive take. It could be improved by going to 4 chests for the level 5 to 6, 5 chests the level 10 to 11, 6 chests the level 15 to 16, 7 chests for level 20 to 21, 8 chests for level 25 to 26 and 9 chests for level 30 to 31. Seriously, an upgrade that gives 1 times the number of scouted provinces in goods? For a long time advanced player that's going to be in the range of 600 provinces, so in the range of 1800 goods, maybe 7 days per week, but lots average visits more like 6 days per week. That's in the range of 1/4 of one collection from a manufacturer. I am just looking at province 65, level 3 catering costs, 72k t1, 140k t2, and 36k t3, another 36k t1, 110k t2, 91k t3, another, 54k t1, 36k t2, 110k t3, and the last, 72k t1, 54k t2, 36k t3, total 829k of goods to cater a single high level province. Surely the comparison demonstrates that the "improvement" is grossly pathetic. And actually, say a person collected 6 days per week, the crystal lighthouse would only help to get through a single tournament encounter at a high level once per week. A size reduction is another idea to make up for it, 6x4 to 5x3. I've always disliked the block-out-the-ability-to-see-several-squares-behind-them-AWs so such a change would also help with this problem because it would also take the height down.

Golden Abyss
No population increase and a 25% reduction to the rate that coin was increasing, from 0.125% per level to 0.1%, and of course double that for the levels off multiples of 5. It is like a 60% reduction benefit, but the cost for those levels went from increasing by 20kp per level to 1,160 extra kp for the first kp level and then 5 times the rate of kp increase for the rest of the AW levels. Under the old pattern the 4 kp levels would have been 3640kp and under the new it is 8600kp, or 236% more kp. So, the benefit is only 40% of what other levels gave and the costs is 236% higher so the effective benefit is actually only about 17% of what historical levels gave for kp. That doesn't take into account the massive other t4-6 goods, orcs, and mana...

Could take a while to look at the degree of slaughter for each AW, and to evaluate how grossly pathetic...

Well, the last time the exact same recipes were officially removed, it was stated explicitly in the release notes. For the reasons that these were not used (not surprisingly). Bringing them back was not mentioned at all, so why the asymmetry? Not to mention that they make even less sense now - Lava Codex costs 300/2 nowadays, while Leaf Codex still costs 600/4, and provides less culture?

@edeba In short: Abyss is as good as capped at 30 - nobody sane will increase it's level.
Same for other aws like Mountain Halls & Timewarp. They could have just capped them at 30 as they did with Monastery.
Good for most of us is that we still have many wonders way below 30 (in my case around half my wonders are around 10th level - currently upgrading all low level wonders to 11), so we don't have to worry that half wonders are not worth upgrading to 31+ for a long time.
