Battle rather than kill better put to flight?

as a pacifist elve I don't like the killing aspect of battles -
in sound and behavior of the animated enemies.
wouldn't it be appropriate and a sort of unique selling point,
to give elves the ability to put enemies to flight instead?
probably a lot of similar pacifists would than rather adopt fighting as an interesting part of the game?

My question to my fellow players is:
do you find it necessary for your fun, that the enemies are killed,
or could you cope with put to flight?

I could cope with put to flight. Would be interesting to see I think

a bit difference between humans and elves (apart from ugly buildings for the humans) wouldn't harm I think :)

I don't think it is realistic to expect the enemy to run away. They are there
defending the relics in the province. They want them. They will fight
to keep them. We must fight ( or negotiate) to get them. It's merely
a battle sound and they fall down. It's not graphic as in being bloody
or gory, so no complaints from me on actual killing.

I am fine with how it is right now. Just dont see it as killing or something. They are just some pixels.

Good to hear that your avatar is back! Let's go back on-topic now. :)

Is it necessary that enemy units get killed, or could it be an option (for pacifist elves) that they run away?

Why would bandit run away? If you can fight them that means they believe they can win. So IN Real life you would have the first half to die and the other half would cower. Now they are only knocked out and you can use them in your demonic experiments.

Let's offer them as a sacrifice to the blood god.

On a serious note. I fail to see a reason for it. May someone enlighten me?

I don't know, the guy who started the topic said something about pacifistic and elves. That triggered me and I started slaying all elven bandits.

I've got no issue with whatever way the enemy goes down, I can just imagine they were hurt very badly and pleaded for mercy so I left them that way?

After a few battles I stopped noticing the way the enemy goes down :p So for me personally it doesn't matter if they go down or run :)
