New Game Features PvP

I know that the first target for innogames is to make a lot of money. Why not? :) But please don`t implement a pay-to-win system. We player knows that is the way to make the most money. ;)
Possibility's to make money without pay2win are:
- premiums can make more fights per day
- get a higher reward
- it is easier to heal your troops after the fight
- you can faster upgrade your pvp level
- ... and so on

If you have a good pvp-level-system the premium player have a higher pvp level, but it make no sense for these guys to fight against weaker players. Have two players the same level, it is the best when the fight is fair and you cannot buy a direct advantage.

Have a look to The-West as a bad comparison. There is a pay-2-win system implemented. I am a premium player there and if I switch to a pvp-style it is for a non-premium player nearly not possible to win against me. So I have no fun with it (it is not a challenge for me), because I know this and for the non premium player this is frustrating, too. So we can say, pvp is there in the most cases only a useful hobby if you use the premium advantages (skill points, clothes, your higher level... ). But the winner is: innogames :)
The big disadvantage are: There are some not so high people, but they do a lot of fights against weaker (new) players. They win from 1000 fights 990 and push out sometimes new players out from the game. It is for a new player never possible to win against this clever gamers.

My words to you are:
Make a good job and earns a lot of money with this feature, but guarantee in the most cases fair fights with punish unfair fighters.

Yes I know, I want something that is impossible :p. But try it... And if the boss do implement pay2win... have a look that the premium advantages damage not the new players. It means there is a beginner area without premium, or in the first levels you cannot buy advantages.

Inno never had a REAL pay to win System in their games.
If you want to see pay to win go to Goodgame Studios and so on. Inno mostly only offers small boosts but real pay2win i saw nowhere.

Play The-West... as non premium player you haven´t any chance in pvp, if you want a small advantage you must go to the year 2008 :). You cannot buy the win directly, but with all advantages you are very overpowered. For a common player you can`t have the special set items for pvp. They are too expensive, because they are seldom. You have a chance to get this without use premium, if you are a well known player, have a lot of rich and spendable friends, use your brain or by steal the items. This are only an exceptions and you must use knowledge. Normally you get per year ~ 1 mill dollar but the best sets (and you need this for the same chance) costs more. You can pay direct points which makes you stronger and you level faster... in the adventures some player have ultra strong weapons. This weapons costs hundreds / thousands Euros.

In my eyes it is the same as pay 2 win. It makes no different if you can by a win directly or you by an other advantage that gives nearly the same effect. The different is, in innogames games you can increase only the chance of a win. Normally you have a chance to win by 50%... with your upgrades you get more and more , up to nearly 100% if your enemy don`t use premium advantages with the same playing time / activity.

It is true yes, that other games from bigpoint or goodgame studios the pay 2 win system is much more stronger. In all innogames games you have some gaps, where you can play with big fun without using money. This is a strong point for this company.

  • But talk about Elvenar :)

But if there will be PvP ... dont forget about the people who are not interested to end up as a farm. A pvp without losses in income and production I would support. Lots of players are more casual and only can enter the game in the morning before work and after work. So dont turn it into an hardcore pvp game! There must be also a peaceful way of life. :D

I do not think that PvP would be a good idea here as there are more than enough combat opertunities with the relic combat. If you want more combat then all you do is explore more terrain as the terrain map is huge.

The problem with PvP is that you will always get placed into a situation where you will be in a group where there are players who are far more advanced than you are and they will always plunder your city, this drives away players as they become frustrated because there is nothing they can do to defend themselves against these plunders and they cannot retaliate because their army is not strong or large enough, as a result they leave the game. I have experienced this in FoE and have lost a lot of good players from my guilds because of this.

If people want PvP and guilds (and by inferance GvG) then they should head over to FoE and allow this game to be different from FoE and not just another clone.

This was the topic of the arena, right? Yeah i think so, let the arena players waste their troops on a trophy and will you let the ones who would love the idea of some type of pvp get what they want.
And I already made clear in the guild topic what I think of FoE. I am concentrated on different Worlds, not time. I want different realities, something more beautiful than our world. Elvanar is that, but I like pvp. I will even risk my city for that so the arena is fine. Allow the arena players to play and the people who want to get bored go on with their lives as it is now. Me, I am already getting bored of fighting against AI's and wish that there was a player fighting against me.

It looks like that you think that pvp is the answer for everything. Wrong! Games can evolve in different regions! Its not clear in which direction Elvenar will go for. It can be:

PvP oriented
Building oriented (designing your city, give more deko)
Economy oriented
Social oriented (guild, alliances and so on)

and some more. PvP is not the only key to unlock longterm motivation :)

Hi Drialik

then perhaps FoE / Grepolis / Tribal Wars / Tribal Wars 2 / The West or Rise of Generals would be better suited for you as they have multiple levels of combat, (the continent map, PvP, GvG) this would allow you to combat both individuals and groups.

:)

I have wdone FoE, Tribal Wars, The West and even Rise of the Generals. They don't entice me, there is no magic that should be the very heartbeat of the world. Grepolis is a bit fun because myths become real, but I want a magic world

Roughly translated to English:
Yes I think without PvP and Guilds it would be very fast a boring game und to compete with other players is what keeps up people playing
You can play Forge of Empires if you want to battle. Elvenar should remain a peaceful game. :)

Well, I think on FOE, the gvg issue became boring, people were stopping..i think pvp might be a good idea, but human versus elves how would that work? Just thinking of what I know (from reading and movies) elves tend to be stronger , so could it be a fair fight?

Not really the case with Elvenar though. Elven players seem to be more in number, but if the fights are one army against another, Elves may in fact be on the losing side. There's a bit of balance based on which units each side uses, but only 3 of all the units are sort of "equal" in capabilities (Axe Barbarian = Sword Dancer; Crossbowman = Archer; Ent = Paladin). The Elves then get a Golem (ranged units with an attack range of 3) and a Sorceress (necromancer unit with an attack range of 4). On the other hand the Humans get a War Dog (light melee unit with high movement range, 6 hexes, which lets it reach units right away, and it's also great versus all types of ranged units) and a Priest (necromancer unit with an astounding attack range of 14).

Obviously who wins depends heavily on which units are in play and how the player plays out the battle, but if we only look at the units then Humans have a bit of an advantage with those 2 units.

I think some more interactions would help with the down times, upgrades or scouting...something else to keep more people active...I have discovered maybe 25 people, and only 5-6 help in any way ....
