Ok I bring this up because I am watching Breaking Bad on Netflix, but well, does anyone else find the names of some of the goods being produced a little odd.

Lol, you're looking too much into it. Crystals are a quite common good in games like this. Magic dust is a bit less common, but still not that weird. It's really just you
