Hey there you rascal, welcome back!

I almost thought you wouldn’t show your face here again, but I’m glad. I’ve done quite a lot of different things while you were gone and I am itching to show you. Come on, I’ll lay it all out.

Right off the bat you can see I’ve added heaps of buildings and my city is slightly bigger! It’s not much but it’s the first thing my visitors notice. In your absence I had plenty of other guests - from elves to other humans. I know what you are thinking: they must have wandered here just like you, but you are wrong. Please give me a bit more credit than that! The only reason I’ve made more connections is that I’ve spent most of my time and energy exploring the map. Remember how I briefly mentioned it last time? Well I’ve delved into it and can give you more information on it now.

Like I showed you last time, all you need to travel through this expansive world is the map I gave you. You can see on my map that I have done a fair amount of excursions lately but I still haven’t made up my mind what region is most lucrative for us. I started scouting the north then spread out in all directions. To be honest I am quite indecisive so it’s hard for me to decide where to expand my exploration. Either way I’ve stumbled upon a lot of different relics and interesting folk. I’ve even made business connections as some of them trade along the whole area. But before I get too carried away and swerve right into tangents let me point out what I want to show you: how to scout, how to get relics and how you can interact with your neighbors.

In order to discover new sectors in the map you will have to know the area around them. What I mean by this is that you need to collect all the relics in the surrounding sector before you can even scout the far beyond it – this way you gain relics, boost your economy and get to know the traders. Like everything in life at first doing this is easy and fast but it gradually gets harder. Of course this will vary depending on how fast you develop your city, both military-wise and economically. Personally I found that I developed my economy faster than I did my military, so the way I went about scouting was different. I sometimes would scout multiple places at once and worked on different regions at the same time. You might find your experience different, like they say: different strokes for different folks.

This brings me to my second point: how to actually collect the relics. I already told you that there is two ways to do this, to fight or to trade. Once again this evolved in stages for me, from only trading at first to fighting for the relics. Since it took me awhile to build my barracks and my troops I had no other choice than to exchange my goods. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing bad about this, but I am skeptical of some of the merchants. This is why I was thankful once I started to recruit some troops - it’s nice to know that you at least have that option. Keep in mind that since you are new, you will get rewarded by either trading or fighting at the beginning. This helps you get acquainted with your options and gives you more experience manning your troops. Don’t worry I will tell you more about fighting on another day.

That reminds me, I heard my troops encountered something, so I’ll check on that and tell you about the third point later. Sorry and bye for now!
