Dear Humans and Elves,
As you might have guessed from the title of this thread, we are planning some changes to the tournaments, and we would like to give you some first insights into these changes with this Behind the Scenes post! Many of you have already suggested changes in this direction in the past, so we hope that we can now deliver a change that you have been asking for.
We are planning several changes, to be released early next year, if all goes to plan. So, what will change?
Tournaments will become available to fellowships only, and no longer require a technology to be researched
In order to make the tournaments accessible to more people, we want to combine them with the fellowships, rather than your neighbors on the world map. This will make it easier for you to participate in a tournament together, and to reach bigger rewards. To participate in a tournament, it will not matter how many people are in the fellowship.
Neighborhood rewards will be removed
No, this is not as bad as it may sound - read on! We will be removing the possibility to play the tournaments with your neighbors for rewards (the current "checkpoint rewards"). We will move the whole multiplayer aspect of the tournaments from the world map (neighbors) to the fellowship.
Fellowship rewards will be added
You will still be able to get rewards, of course - but from working together as a fellowship. If you are participating in a tournament, the points you win will be summed up for all members in the fellowship. Once this total sum of points from a fellowship reaches a checkpoint, the whole fellowship will be rewarded with great rewards at the end of the tournament. There will be a total of ten checkpoints to reach, each giving greater rewards than the previous one.
One of the new rewards you can receive, is a new item: the blueprint. With this item, you will be able to upgrade your Magic Residences and Magic Workshops. It won't be easy to reach this item, but if you work together in your fellowship, you will have a chance to get this powerful item!
We hope that you like the changes we're planning to the tournaments, and we are looking forward to your feedback on it. Please share your thoughts in the discussion thread!
