nope. on my live server they always work. Plus, it's only the hobby room that gives this error. The ad for the treasure on the map works just fine.

i don't mind adds of "watch this and get something in return" variety, if you're against them don't click the icon.
but i do think that they have to work as expected - that is, when you've watched the add close button appears and you get your prize. there is another inno game which keep offering a casino game add which instead of closing when you tap the close button directs you to google play app install page for the advertised game, then you must tap the return button which directs you back to add closing screen, then you can get out and get the prize (unless you're unlucky and the add decides to repeat the process).
i'm sure many of you are wondering why i persist there then - in that game i'm in the early stages and those add prizes really help.
also i've been happy that in elvenar the adds have worked as expected, no merrygoround bs.
that is until today i encountered a viking game add in elvenar which didn't show close button at all, then directed me to download page and basically refused to close at all or let me back to elvenar. i turned off the tablet to get rid of it.
i do understand that inno doesn't control add program, for inno it's a service offered by outsiders to earn some extra cash. i do think that inno should make a point of insisting from add service providers that such nonsense should be corrected. otherwise it gets quickly to the point where they've killed goose laying golden eggs as in childrens story.
...or is it so that the longer a player wanders around in the add world the more money inno gets ? hmmmm ...
PS. as i closed in such "conspiracy theory" maybe i should take it a little further - in that other inno game i saw a player fume on the discord channel that he/she had suddenly lost half of earned diamond, without any explanation. sounds familiar ?

You don't need to watch the ad to get your prize. Just click on the cross once the countdown is over and you'll get your prize or bonus.

True most of the time on the browser. However, sometimes it skips that step and goes right to the ad, both from the reels and the hobby room. In the hobby room when you choose to watch several times to get more hours on the clock, it's more likely to do that. I know, you could just get the 3h, which makes the most sense to me, but when you get more, it shouldn't change behavior with the ads.

Then you are lucky. I'm on a PC in a browser, not the app. It has happened in 2 browsers. I normally use chrome, but switched to Firefox to see if it happens there. It does. When the ad opens directly, there has always been a 10s countdown on it, so can exit early. I've never clicked to open an ad and most of the time the dialog you show above is what happens. However, people on the app say it immediately goes to the ad and they can't end it early.
I'm not against the ads per say, but in the US forum a person wrote,
"I had one ad for a Buddhist retreat go nuts when I clicked on it, telling me my computer was compromised and to click to fix it. I just reloaded the game instead and ran a virus program. Everything was fine. Might not have been if I'd clicked ... I hate those flashing "warning" ads."
This should never ever happen. The post was from a well-known easy-going person. She is not one who might be suspected of just posting something to create an uproar. Many people will just dismiss that this happened. The point is Inno is not exerting control over the ads. That will always allow unexpected behavior to slip through. However, the bottom line is it's their game and can treat it as they wish.
