Ode to Elvenar
(From a battle weary Elf)

I slept last night upon a bed
of leaves and vines that furled,
and wound until they'd made a wall
to shield me from this world.

As intricate as winding dreams,
they wrapped me close to keep
the nightmares from invading
as I lay me down to sleep.

And in that wall, a door appeared
of bark and acorn shell
that opened onto sunlit fields
replete with asphodel,

that wavered in the breeze
as ghostly figures passed anon,
sweet smiling in their passing
into shadows and were gone.

And dark'ning skies exploded
into sparkling stars abright
with diamond haloes hov'ring
o'er angels wings in flight.

And peace became a blanket
floating gently from the skies,
enveloping humanity
and opening my eyes...

from where I lay upon a bed
of leaves and vines that furled...
and wound until they'd made a wall
to shield me from this world.

Another poem for you all.:)

The Green Man

Beneath the eager whispering trees, and moonlight's wandering,
the woodsman's plaintive cry ascends as he begins to sing.
In earthen tones so deep in lore, as ancient as the bark
that grows upon the oaken trees and thrives within the dark...

that moves and sways around his song caressing every sound,
as all the creatures of the wood stand rooted to the ground.
And spring becomes alive again with buttercups and vine,
where faery folk on dragonflies sip flasks of golden wine

amidst the wild flowers blooming, yellows, reds aflame,
to celebrate the sunlight and the planting of the grain.
Whilst birds, delighted with their wings, achieve a heav'nly flight,
arising from the safety of their nests into the light.

"And all is well," The Green Man sings beneath the whisp'ring trees
and holds his arms aloft to gently mingle with the leaves.
And as another dawn erupts through amber tinted sky,
so ends the woodsman's song...upon the breeze...a last goodbye.
