I know all of that, I was specifically responding to the things in the post I quoted:
    - if the enemy has first move the battle starts once you get to the battlefield, you don't have to do anything
    - you can't retreat during enemy turn because the Surrender button is inactive (same with the auto battle button)

I always try to bring in a unit that has a high initiation. If the initiation is higher than the enemy's units, I will go first. Then I'll be able to surrender before the battle begins. But I don't surrender until I see how the battle is going. Sorry shadowblack, I thought I was helping you with a question.

Visiting the Great Library (that's what I call the Forum), I found some helpful advice. Check out the instructional videos nomar123 of GemsofKnowledge created to help us elves and humans in the tournaments. Here's the forum link.

I don't know how to post a video, but I can still offer my suggestion in written format for the Gems Tournament.

You're always learning different battle tactics in Elvenar. For the Humans out there, I've found using these units are great battling Heavy Ranged & Heavy Melee. You know what they are? 2 Mortars & 3 Vallorian Guards.

Give the order to Finish Battle Automatically and you’ll see how well they work together.

Well you’re saying that’s fine for the Humans but we elves don’t have Mortars. You have Vallorian Guards. Just bring in your spell casters to wreak havoc on the battlefield. The Vallorian Guards will be thankful and might invite your Sorceress and Banshee to relax in their hot tub.

    The easiest tournament in Elvenar

If your fellowship struggle to get 10 chests or if you want to get tons of resources, this is the tournament to look forward to, because you dont need any goods and you will need only few squads of units.

I am using only level 2 units: Blossom mage and Ranger, 3 x Magnificent Mage Multiplier and 2 x Enlightened Light Range buildings, you can use more if you feel your damage output is not enough.

@Dony In other words you're telling us to use as much as possible temporary buildings to have easy tournament.
Too bad that there isn't building for boosting light melee (both my most important tournament are best fought with cerberoses).

yes i agree, the other units could use a boost building aswell (think it was allready asked for as soon as crafting came).
and light melee tournament especially (scrolls and magic dust) are totally undoable to fight. The losses are way too great (unless if you do it all manually ofcourse). I hoped it would be better once you got a high lvl victory springs (the only reason i build that thing) but its still the same heavy losses :(
This makes scrolls and magic dust an ideal cater tournament tho, for the ones who love catering... So as always something negative is always something positive for someone else
